La Cantina Do Spade è un luogo storico di Venezia, lo testimonia la toponomastica dei luoghi intorno all'osteria, come il sottoportego e la calle che portano il nome delle Do Spade. Potete facilmente riconoscerci dalla secolare insegna della quale, dice Giuseppe Tassini nel suo libro Curiosità Veneziane, ovvero origini delle denominazioni stradali, si parla già nel 1448, citando un certo Carle de Zuane hosto all'insegna delle Spade. Nel 1566 Marin Sanudo precisa: "L'osteria delle Do Spade a S. Matteo, con due botteghe sottoposte, apparteneva allora alla famiglia Foscari, ed era appigionata ad un ostiere di nome Battista".
